About the Instructors

April Richards and Jason Hofmann met in 2007 in Brooklyn, NY, at the 45th Pet Tech® instructor training program. April and Jason were partnered up in the instructor program and asked to share a “demo” dog, which we named Bruno. Over the course of the intensive three-day program, and with the help of Bruno, we became skilled in pet first aid and CPR, as well as learning many instructing techniques. By graduation day we became good friends, and later decided to team up together to promote Pet Tech®. As professionals in the pet industry, we both feel very strongly that every pet owner should be armed with the life-saving tools of pet first aid and CPR. In our commitment to improving the quality of pets’ lives we urge anyone who either cares for or owns a pet to be proactive and learn these techniques.

Calm Pets Happy Pets, LLC and 203 Pet Service, LLC are both insured and bonded companies, as well as members of Pet Sitters International. Both have completed the Red Cross pet first aid course, but left the program feeling unsatisfied with the level of training provided. After completing the Pet Tech program we felt that we had mastered the skills and information, and began training our staff in Pet Tech® first aid and CPR techniques. We know it makes our services stand out as premium in-home pet care in Connecticut, and gives our clients an added feeling of security when they leave their pets in our hands.
